Emily Miller was named the head coach of the N.C. Wesleyan women’s lacrosse program in the fall of 2012 after spending the previous year as the Sports Development Manager at Tacoma (Wash.) South Sound Sports. There, she developed and managed the company’s Club Development Program, in addition to overseeing and directing marquee community events at the Tacoma Dome. During that time, Miller also served as head lacrosse coach for Pacific Lutheran University’s club team, a program that she was instrumental in getting off the ground.

From October 2010 to January 2012, Miller served as owner/director of coaching for Wildfire Lacrosse in Chandler, Arizona, where she created and operated a profitable venture for developing club-level lacrosse. The endeavor allowed her to gain valuable experience in hiring, training and supervising staff, as well as developing strategic partnerships with local businesses and schools, which should prove beneficial in recruiting.

Miller’s additional coaching experience includes a two-year stint as varsity head coach at Corona High School in Tempe, Arizona from 2007-2009. She also served as vice president of the Arizona Girls Lacrosse Association during that span, while founding and coordinating events for ThirdBiotech.

Miller is a 2009 graduate of Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Park and Recreation Management with a Therapeutic Recreation emphasis. While at ASU, she was an active member of the university’s club lacrosse program, and upon graduation, earned an athletic scholarship to Tiffin University in Ohio.

Miller subsequently began her Master’s work at Tiffin while utilizing her final year of NCAA eligibility as a player/coach for the Dragons’ inaugural lacrosse team. She completed her M.B.A. with a Sports Management emphasis in December of 2011.

In addition to her coaching duties, Miller serves at Assistant Sports Information Director. She now resides in Rocky Mount.
