Jemar Lewis enters his fourth season as an assistant with the N.C. Wesleyan football program and serves as Recruiting Coordinator while coaching the running backs. Since joining Wesleyan, Lewis has helped guide two Bishop running backs to USA South Player of the Year accolades: 2014 Offensive Player of the Year Jacques Alston and 2015 Offensive Rookie of the Year Adrian Minondo.
A product of Heidelberg University, Lewis joined the Battling Bishops after serving in a similar capacity at his alma mater during the 2011 and 2012 seasons. As a graduate assistant, he guided the Student Prince backfield, as well as assisted with special teams, video coordination and recruiting. Lewis worked within an offense that ranked in the Top-15 nationally in scoring and total yardage during his two seasons, helping develop a trio of All-Conference selections and a pair of All-Americans along the way.
Prior to his move to the sidelines, Lewis enjoyed a solid career in the backfield for Heidelberg, which culminated with First Team OAC All-Conference honors as a senior. That season, he led the team in scoring with nine touchdowns and a team-best 807 rushing yards. Overall, the Bedford, Ohio native earned three postseason honors during his career.
Lewis received his B.A. in Sports Management in 2011 and completed his M.A. in Education in 2015. He currently resides in Rocky Mount.
