Men's Tennis to Play for Title, Golf in 6th Place

Below is a recap of Saturday's USA South Tournament action, as well as game times for Sunday. GO BISHOPS!

BASEBALL: The 2nd-seeded Battling Bishops saw their 2013 season come to an end with a 4-3 loss to LaGrange College on Saturday at Five County Stadium. Tied 3-3 in the ninth, the Panthers got a walk-off RBI-single to steal the win.

MEN'S TENNIS: Top-seeded N.C. Wesleyan cruised to a 9-0 shutout of 4th-seeded Piedmont to secure its spot in Sunday's USA South Tournament Championship. The Bishops will take on 2nd-seeded Christopher Newport at 10:00am Sunday at the Slick Family Foundation Tennis Center on Wesleyan's campus. Currently ranked 24th nationally, NCWC will be seeking its fifth straight crown and NCAA berth.

SOFTBALL: The 6th-seeded Bishops saw their 2013 season come to an end on Saturday with an 11-9 loss to 5th-seeded Methodist. Wesleyan had previously rebounded from a 6-1 loss to Christopher Newport with a 14-6 win over Greensboro to advance.  Versus the Monarchs, NCWC loaded the bases with two outs in the ninth but couldn't push across the tying runs.

GOLF: N.C. Wesleyan's golf team currently stands in 6th place after two rounds of play at Benvenue Country Club. Sophomore Stephen Bardswick is leading the Bishops with two rounds of 77, which places him tied for 11th place individually entering day three.
